SLEEPING GIANT I
Oil and Wax, 16 x 20 inches
This is a painting of a well-known Lake Superior island (Sleeping Giant) depicted during a stormy evening. There is an intricate blending of subtle, cool colours throughout this piece which attempts to render the movement of early evening shifting seas.
“The landscape painter must walk in the fields with an humble mind. No arrogant man was ever permitted to see nature in all her beauty.” – John Constable (1776-1837)
