ALGOMA BOREAL II
Mixed Media, 16 x 20 inches
Triptych (panel 3 of 3)
The inspiration for the Algoma Boreal series was dawn light in an Algoma region (Ontario) forest as clouds were clearing after a heavy rainfall. There is often a slight greenish tinge to the light if it is warm after a heavy rain. I wanted to convey the dampness of forest air and the feeling of looking at the sky through mist and trees as a storm is passing.
“Look around at the immense creation of nature and you will find laws, unlike in their aspects and yet alike in their effect, which generate all human emotions.” – Paul Gauguin (1848-1903)
