Mixed Media, 15 x 19 inches

This work was inspired by a high waterfall I visited in Ontario. This is just the top of the falls where it begins its drop over an escarpment. I liked the rock outcropping that split the falls into two streams. I wanted to capture the splashing and brightness of the water.

  • “We retain traces of different depth and for different lengths of time of the impressions we have obtained from nature. The selection of these impressions determines all the characteristics of the work, that is to say, they are the “being”, the character of the painter.” – Ferdinand Hodler (1853-1918)
